626 wont get in reverse help

hello i have a 1996 mazda 626 automatic it will go into all gears but for some reason wwhen you put the car into reverse nothing happens any ideas or any help do i need a rebuild or is someting electric ty

Maybe just the range sensor mounted on top of the tranny under the airbox.
