Does Anyone Out There Have An Idea? I Have A 2002 Z71 Avalanche. Recently It Doesnt Want To Start All The Time. The Problem Is Very Intermittant And Its Driving Me Nuts. It Turns Over And Even Starts For About A Half A Second And Shuts Down. I Wait About Ten Minutes And She Fires Right Up!!!! Then It Might Not Happen For A Week Then It Starts Again. Help!!!!!! Took It To Chevy And Guess What It Started Up Every Day For Three Days With Them.

First and easiest item to check is your fuel pressure regulator. This is a common problem and you can replace it yourself in about 2 minutes.

Located about midway above the left (driver's side) valve cover. Just pull the vacuum line and if you get raw fuel, the regulator is bad.

This may not be your problem, but it's so easy to check.

Good luck!

If your security light doesn't go out when this happens the (vat) has set a code. It shuts off the fuel pump. Chevrolet has a teck bulitin on this to repair wire conectors in the ignition switch harrnis.
