Hello All. I think I have finally found my play car. One of my wife's friend is selling his 1987 BMW 325iS, 2dr, sunroof, 5spd, leather interior and he is only asking $500 for it. I was wanting to know, is this car worth it? the tranny is strong, but he said it probably needs a new clutch plate, because its the original. the motor has 174,000 miles on it. its needs some minor body work on the rear quarter panel where a woman had scraped along side the car a few years ago. the interior, is pretty good, except the drivers seat, it will need to be replaced. the dash has a few cracks across it.

I am looking at this car, as something to be a semi restore and play toy. do some mods to it, and make it a very nice fast cruiser to go and have fun traversing the straights and twistys around town. thanks for all your help and input.

Let see,

Get a 4.11 to 1 differential and it will scream around town, $250 and two hours.

You will never be able to go over 125 mph !

Cut the front springs, 1 inch, to lower the car 1.5 inches, you will need to buy a set of the rear spings, not able to cut the rear.

Get a dash cap, $100 from BAS.

Get a seat cover, black leather from BAS, $100.

Start removing weight, every 100 lbs is the same as a 10 hp pop.

Change that clutch if it slips and not before, some with over 250k are still working good.

Get a Maco paint job and pocket the other $1000, and never tell your wife the real price.
