I just purchase a 1991300zx 2+2 automatic it works fine for what i know about cars. I want to know if is normal for these car to not be able to spind the wheels when i press the throtle all the way down from a stop. I can't make it burn no rubber why? the car is slow at starting but then it gets a kick and just accelate good but i hate the start of the car. what can i do to get a better start im going crazy to see hondas get a good jump and start ahead of me at the lights lucky for me i mage to past them as i shift to second but i want a good jump is there anything i can do or is there anything wrong with the car please help.

The Hondas are getting a good jump because they don't weigh anything. But you catch up and pass them easily because they have no power. And thats the important thing. Your car weighs more and its hard to get momentum going from a dead start. Frankly, I don't know why you would want to spin the tires just by stopping on the gas. Thats how you get worse starts. Also the 300ZX is equipped with VLSD, designed to prevent the burning of rubber and to get better starts. To get better starts try holding the brake and lightly pushing on the throttle to preload the transmission, power braking. THIS WILL DESTROY YOUR TRANSMISSION IN THE LONG RUN! If you just have to tear your drive train apart for some reason then just push the wheel over and hit the gas. Just don't wreck your car.

you can brake launch if it is a legit race but for the average stoplight race i have the same problem.

i can get my stock tires to break lose a little when i floor it off the start but when i had my nitto 555's on there it would hardly break loose around corners.

another thing how good are the unorthodox pulley set are they really woth all the money. where is the best place to buy them

The UD pulley is one of the cheapest upgrades you can do and it will give you a bit more power. For more info, check the "destroying the world in a Z32" sticky up there.

Save yourself some dough and buy the AMZ pulley...

hey, ive heard some sketchy stuf about UD pullys....correct me if im completely off....butb suppoesedly it gives you alternator problems cuz it doesnt get quite as much power as normal, and i also heard that after a while it can mess with your crank (the crank thing i dont know about) but help me out cuz its a very tempting upgrade....90 bux

Since it does make all the other accessories attached to it spin slower, your alternator will make less power. However, unless you are running some friggin huge sound system, this tends not to be an issue. I don't really see how it would mess with the crank.

what about if you happen to be running an e-fan e-water pump and some other electrical stuff.. you'd think that puts a moderate strain on your alternator.. think that'd make a difference?

Just for the record I have a underdrive pulley on my daily Z32 with elect. fan's 2, elect. waterpump, power windows and seat and my sound system has 2 amps, 1000W and 700W. Never had any heating problems or dead battery. As for balance problems with the engine none. Just another old wife's tale.

I can spin the tires in my manual 91 N/A, i just rev it to about 5500 rpms and dump the clutch giving me some spinnage, i suggest clorox bleech on ur tires nicca, lol

I can do donuts in my 95 NA AT Z32, Just punch the throttle hard at a 5 mph rolling start and the rear end will brake loose QUICK, careful though the steering wheel will quickly hit the lock, but its easy to control the Zed when you have some idea what your doing. Its not like when I was downhill drifting my '89 4.0 V6 Ranger, in the mountains of southern WV as a teenager. That was alot harder than it looked becuase that suspension SUCKED! With the Z32 its pretty easy to control the slide becuase of its excelent suspension stock.

yeah, powersliding from flat ground to a downhill slope produces some interesting results... i spun my car the other day not expecting the increase in spinyness(lol) when the downhill slope hit... goodthing it was late at night and there was noone around!

I was in a movie theater parking lot after hours. EVEN less people around. And completely flat.
