I have a 92 325I E36. It has 72K miles and its an Automatic. The car has a surge to it when I am accelerating. The mpg needle swings back and forth. The idle is pretty good. I read something here about the coils. Is there any way to maybe pull codes from the car or does anyone have any suggestions? What are the best spark plugs to use? Thanks

Check vacume lines, I had the same problem during acceleration the car would surge, replaced some cracked vacume lines.

Hey guys, I checked my coiuls and they were all exactly .9 ohms. Is this ok? Also I am using autolite double platinum plugs, The dealer recommended Bosch. Any ideas?? Thanks

I have replaced my plugs and never really seen any difference, the platnums are good, I have double platnium, they come with a guarontee if you dont like them they will buy them back, I think.

I still think it is IAC or vacume lines.

I think you are right, I changed my plugs today from autolite double platinum to the OEM Bosch and no difference. I also checked my coils again and I found that if I left the meter on them a little longer I got a .8 reading for ohms. I am yet to change the o2 sensor. But anyway, it is still the same, sluggish and surging under load. I just picked up an 89 mustang GT with 70K like new. I am very temped to sell the Bimmer and keep the 5.0 ( it friggin screws!)
