help im a dumbassdel soul 10-04-2004, 04:21 PM alright im planning an engine swap my my 93 del sol Si, should i go with b18c1 or a jdm motor? which would be easier to tune CivicSpoon 10-04-2004, 04:41 PM yes u are a dumbass...j/k with ya. The JDM motor only has 10 more hp and slightly higher compression; so if you can find a USDM one for cheaper I'd jsut go with that. But you shouldn't really need to tune anything unless you're planning on building up the motor or going forced induction, really no point because the ECU will do all the work for you. But if you're planning on replacing the internals of the engine for either one of those reasons then definently get the USDM version if you can get it for cheaper. del soul 10-04-2004, 05:45 PM thx dude, but heres the scenario: i have a friend who can get me the jdm motor w/like 40k miles on it for cheap, but i wondered if like intake headers, manifold, etc. can be installed easily or if they have to be ordered for japan like the motor GScivic7 10-04-2004, 06:59 PM It's the same motor, why would you need to order parts from japan? del soul 10-04-2004, 07:04 PM it is? sweet. sum of my friends have been telling me stuff and mixin me up GScivic7 10-04-2004, 07:05 PM it is the exact same motor, they are tuned a little bit differently that's all. superbluecivicsi 10-06-2004, 11:55 PM Any B series swap will be fine. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
