DC sports and stereo systemEclipse66 10-04-2004, 10:59 AM I have had a hard time trying to find performance parts for my 2003 Mitsuibishi Eclipse. However I looked on the DC sports page and they have some things coming soon for the 2000-2003 V6 Eclipse. Headers and a dual exhaust will be coming soon. So I am hoping that before the spring I can get that for my car. I figure some headers, cold air intake and a dual exhaust is good enough for me. I am not going to drop 3,000 on a turbo kit, I will just get a different car next time that already has turbo. On another note I see a lot of people talking about trying any way to keep the 5 speaker set up in the Eclipse's. Do yourself a favor and just upgrade the deck and speakers. I tried to find a center speaker that could handle some power and I had no such luck. Most of the smaller center speakers can only handle about 35 watts rms. So if you want to listen you better listen closely because it won't be loud. (LOL) Infinity makes some good speakers if you are willing to upgrade and you will love the sound. I am happy that I gave up on the center speaker and did the upgrade. My system sounds great and it didn't cost that much to do either. eclipsed4utoo 10-04-2004, 01:17 PM from what ive heard, if its not gonna be for a honda or acura, then DC sports is not gonna put much research and development into it. for headers, you can choose from: RIPPMODS, Hytech, XIR, and AMSS. for intakes, you can choose from: AEM, Injen, or K&N. as far as exhaust go, going dual exhaust will rob you of horsepower. Eclipse66 10-04-2004, 01:23 PM I have heard dual exhaust doing that so maybe I will go with the greddy Evo 2 exhaust. I found this site that has it for a killer price. Also DC sports will have it, they already have the part number listed for the headers. 3G GT 10-04-2004, 01:27 PM Someone told me that geting a dual exhaust will decrease horsepower but will increase torque. not sure though. Eclipse66 10-04-2004, 01:30 PM I wonder why you see dual exhaust on a lot of the stock gt's. IF it decreases horsepower then why do most car manufactures have it with different gt's. Anyway I think I am going to get the Greddy EV0 2 exhaust. I can get it for only 440.00. It has a 4 inch tip on it and I heard it sounds great. 3G GT 10-04-2004, 01:33 PM eclipsed4utoo can you give the web sites to those companies. im looking to buy some headers 3G GT 10-04-2004, 01:36 PM the Evo II does sound awsome if you have a gt. it sounds good even if you have the I4. My brother had one on his GS Eclipse66 10-04-2004, 02:05 PM For all you guy and girls that are looking into getting an exhaust for your Eclipse. Here is the website for the Greddy EV0 2 exhaust. This is the cheapest you will find on the net. This guy had 100 percent positive feedback on Ebay so he is reliable. Here is the link for the exhaust -http://www.city-speed.com/webstore/specials.html Here is the link for headers that will be coming soon from DC sports. http://www.dcsports.com/default.asp They already have a part number for headers for the 2000 and up GT Eclipse. So if you call them they might have it in stock already. I am waiting till March before I buy any mods now. Winter is coming soon in Ny so there is no reason to do them now. eclipsed4utoo 10-04-2004, 03:48 PM go to www.google.com then search for 2000 eclipse headers you can get RIPP headers at www.rippmods.com you can get XIR headers at www.eclipseforums.org im not saying that DC sports wont have headers, im just sayin that they might lack in quality b/c there not making them for hondas or acuras Eclipse66 10-04-2004, 04:16 PM Hey thanks for those two sites Eclipsed4utoo. Those are two good sites and they have a lot of performance mods for the newer Eclipses. Damn I might have to take out a another student loan and get that supercharger kit from rippmods. (LOL) The Eclipse forum site is good to and they have a good deal going on for the Greddy exhaust systems. Also they have the Bomex kits too. Bomex are the hottest body kits out there I think. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
