I have a 92 ford Taurus free from a friend, It runs good and everything but the only thing is i don't like the factory stereo it has,,, So i want to replace it with another one,, I know nothing about cars..
I need to know how to replace a factory stereo in a 92 ford Taurus with a pioneer stereo i don't have the books that explain how to do it or any books by that matter i got it all for free... If and one knows how to do this can you please write me back.. Thanks

Installing an aftermarket radio, regardless of the make of car, is often the cause of endless electrical problems.

If you look at your radio, I think you'll see 2 holes on either side of the face plate.
You can bend a coat hanger in 2 "U" shapes & insert them on either side.
(Actually coat hangers are a little too soft, but you can make them work.)
You're actually pushing on a clip that holds the radio in, & I think you should actually push outward on the 2 pieces.
Might want to dissconnect power so you don't short anything out.
You'll lose any steering wheel/extra dash controls with an aftermarket radio.
It's also important to know if you have "Premium Sound or JBL" or just the "plain vanilla" radio.
Post some more information here.
