I'd like to see a new version with a convertable option which looks like the image with the top down" Porsche 02-15-2002, 10:37 PM I always wondered why the Mufflers on that car are so huge, does anyone know? They're like surplus 500 gal fuel tanks! They are 2 different cars. Pennzoil GT-R 07-23-2002, 05:00 PM The pictures you post of are of the ltd. edition (25 sold) homologation CLK-GTR based around the 97/98 FIA GT car/Le Mans car. More so the 97 car as it has a 6.9 V12 and in the beginning of 98 they swapped it for a lighter V8 version. The CLR as MercedesAMG rightly said is a very different car and is the 99 updated version that flipped at LeMans. There is a video of it on Morpheus and Kazaa entitled "Sport - Mercedes CLK flip at LeMans" SilverLotus340R 08-07-2002, 12:35 PM shit! i just downloaded the crash...holy shit that thing was like a rag doll.. did the driver survive???? it like went over the hill and off the track and fliped like 5 times.. shit 2 million + down the drain :( Pennzoil GT-R 08-07-2002, 12:44 PM the CLR's flipped 3 times in Le Mans 99, with two lesser flips while Mark Webber was at wheel. in the 3rd and famous crash, Peter Dumbreck the drivers were very lucky and both escaped with just cuts and bruises, the same cant be said for the cars though:( Guyanson_Mendiola 11-10-2003, 03:01 AM Homologation model? http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/536860clk-gtr.jpga very superb race car, Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR. :iceslolan Sydbom 02-13-2004, 01:43 AM the CLR's flipped 3 times in Le Mans 99, with two lesser flips while Mark Webber was at wheel. in the 3rd and famous crash, Peter Dumbreck the drivers were very lucky and both escaped with just cuts and bruises, the same cant be said for the cars though:( I raced against Peter Dumbreck a couple of days ago in Project Gotham Racing 2 on XBOX Live! he is a 30 year old scotsman! and drives a 911 turbo as everyday car and drives www.DTM.de next time i race him i will ask him about that crash! Cockrocket 06-09-2004, 01:19 PM just to clarify this...IT WAS NOT THE CLK GTR WHICH FLIPPED AT LE MANS N 1999 IT WAS THE CLR....the GTR raced and won the 1997 fia gt championship and i cant remember its result at le mans, the CLR just raced at le mans and never agen for obviosu reasons! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
