Ok, something is messed up with the idle because it just sits there and jumps from 900-1500RPM every 2 seconds and it doesnt stop. I will just be sitting there at a light and it wont stop bouncing. Does anybody know what this could be? I was thinkin it was the distributor. I just want to get this car running so i can sell it because i thought i was going to put the B16 in this rex im talkin about now but i decided to put it in my other rex that's in my sig. If anyone has any ideas of what it could be or help me out that would be great. Thanks again.:D

Could anyone please help me out? I really need to find out the problem but i dont wanna spend money on something when that's not the problem. Anyone ever encountered this before? Thanks again for all replies.:)

I have a similar problem, and my mechanic recommended a new idle air control motor which he said was like $600 +install. I figure I can either buy that idle control motor, or buy a ZC with the $600 and deal with the problem 'till I get enough $$$ to get the ZC installed.

Yea it happens all the time. The only time it doesnt do it is when i shut the car off and leave it sit for 15-30 minutes and then restart it. It runs good for about 15 minutes and then just starts acting up again. I think im gonna replace the distributor anyways and see if that helps...if not then i really dont know what to think...:(

Yeah, I have the same problem just not as severe (idle is good as long as the engine stays cold, but after warming up the idle is all over the place and near stalling). Keep me updated if you get it fixed so I can try whatever you did.

My 88 Civic does that, but only when the engine is cold in the morning and it stops once it warms up, the problem should not be to expensive to fix, you might just need a minor adjustment somewhere

mine does that every once in awhile too, i figured it was cuz of my sound system just draining my shit out.
