95 S-10 Blazer w/ really rough idletjh5479 10-01-2004, 11:13 AM My blazer has 140,000 miles on it but has been running fine until about May. Since then I brought it in and they got an EGR valve code and therefore they changed the valve. Ran fine for a little while and started again. Have since brought it back in and they said it needed a major tune up. Did it myself, but didn't help at all. Vehicle runs fine as soon as you step on the gas and I have not had any issues with it stalling at stops (YET). Also, how do you replace the drivers side middle plug with the steering colum in the way. Any sugestions would be most helpful. lou S. 10-01-2004, 12:14 PM Have you taken off your plenum and checked for a fuel leak off of your injector system? As far as the spark plug, on my 94 I take the tire off and go through the wheel well----little more time but for the most part it is a straight shot and I'ld rather sit sometimes than always leaning over into the engine. tjh5479 10-01-2004, 12:21 PM I have not, I will try that. Thanks Trail Blazin96 10-01-2004, 12:25 PM I had the same problem, Middle plug on the Driver side, I took mine to a shop to change that one. I asked how much it would cost, and they changed that one for free, But I watched and you need to use a prybar, to lift the steering colum don't try this by your self, get a buddy to help. Good luck, try and find a shop that would help you change that one and show you how to do it. lou S. 10-01-2004, 12:39 PM Keep that shop as a friend!!! As mine is a 94 and I was not quite sure about the difference in clearance by the steering column and what not and if any universal's are needed. But, based on your experience there is. tjh5479 10-01-2004, 04:16 PM I tried the Plenum, nothing. I got the middle plug out and replaced that as well. I actually used a spark plug socket that had the ability to put a wrench on the other end and used a 45 degree wrench, it worked nicely. I also heard something about disconneting the batter and cleaning all the fuses. Figured I give it a try, but again, nothing. Any more sugestions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lou S. 10-01-2004, 04:30 PM What did you actually replace during your tune-up? Does the hesitation happen after the truck is warmed up, cold, or at any time? Also, you didn't accidently knock the connector loose on your coolant temperature sending unit did you? Maybe BlazerLT will have some suggestions when he gets on. BlazerLT 10-01-2004, 04:32 PM You took the upper plenum completely off and checked for leaking gas washing the upper plenum? Like this? http://www.asashop.org/autoinc/feb2000/techtotech.htm Also, get a new EGR valve gasket for $2 and remove the EGR valve and see if there are any carbon chunks in it. Remove them, spray the inside of the valve liberally with throttle body cleaner and reinstall with the new gasket. YOU DON'T HAVE TO REPLACE THE VALVE EVERYTIME, just clean and replace. Anyhoo, check for fuel leaking in the upper plenum again, check the EGR and then get back to us. BTW, is the check engine light on now? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
