Smoking issueE Honda 09-30-2004, 01:15 AM Ok heres the scoop on the poop..... I installed one of those motors you get from japan,.,.,.,.,.Was supposed to have 32,400 miles on it. I have only 2 problems. I notice smoke coming from the right side tailpipe. Its pretty thick and obviously oil. It does not do it all the time so I have ruled out rings or guides. Assume its something to do with a turbo maybe. Anyone have a clue?.......Also the clutch......Seems like it wont stay bled........Sometimes it goes into gear ok and others I have to pump the clutch like hell.........I bought a brand new slave cylinder and bled it and that was not the problem..I am not losing any fluid anywhere. Also anyone have any clue where I can find a hole to run a power wire from the battery to an amp I am installing, I don't see a hole in the firewall to save my life....... Other than that I am enjoying the car....... If anyone is in need of any engine parts drop me a line.. Thanks guy and gals. Broke_as_**** 09-30-2004, 01:19 AM Pull back the carpet on the passenger side footwell, there is a wood panel underneath with the ECU under it, you should be able to route the wires through there. Of course while your under there you could just move the battery to the trunk, get a HKS ignition system and install a full roll cage. Sorry, I tend to get carried away. E Honda 09-30-2004, 02:10 AM I seen the wooden panel you speak of.....However I saw no holes......Are you positive that they are there..I assume you have to unbolt the ECU to see the hole (s) you speak of. Broke_as_**** 09-30-2004, 02:27 AM Its there, its the main hole that the ECU wires run through. However, upon closer inspection of my own car I found another hole that will probably work better for your situation. Look behind the black rubber floor piece in the upper part of the driverside footwell. Its roughly located between the clutch pedal and brake pedal. Its about an inch accross and should be enough to run an amp wire through, it shouldn't be too hard to get to either as the previous owner of my car ran the tube for the aftermarket boost gauge through it. StealthZ32 09-30-2004, 07:05 PM about the smoke, check your gaskets, especially on the oil pan, I get oil burning on my exhaust from the oil pan gasket being a little shot E Honda 09-30-2004, 09:04 PM It is coming from the tail pipe.
