battery or is it starter 2000 t & calecdl 09-29-2004, 07:53 PM HI anyone! i am not to sure if my battery is dying on me or if it is the starter . when i turn over the ignition key there seems to be a slight hesitation before the the engine catches and starts up. i was wondering if the battery could be dying (140000 kilometers on original battery) or if it is the start of some problems for the starter. thanks GTP Dad 09-29-2004, 08:44 PM I doubt the problem is with the starter or the battery although you might want to consider changing it soon since it is probably going to die soon anyway. I would think that the problem is with the contact in the ignition switch that is not making complete contact due to wear. As long as it turns over then I wouldn't worry too much about this. If the starter refuses to engage entirely or it fails to turn the motor over then I would change the starter but not before. vipergg 09-30-2004, 09:15 PM Yeah this sounds like a battery that is getting weak . Take it out and take it to like autozone , they have machines that can put a load on it and determine if it's weak or not . This sounds like one that will leave you stranded if you let it go too long . Batteries are cheap if you need a new one . vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
