Best tuner magazine

just out of curiosity which magazine do you all think is the best tuner magazine?

I like Dsport and Sport Compact Car. I want to look into Modified and Turbo.

I like turbo and high performance, super street is stupid (kinda) but funny, sport compact is pretty good. Modified is good because hey cover all the drifting events. Also if you want to see which one is the best you can subscribe to one of those deals where you get 1 free issue and then just cancel your subscribtion. I did this for like 4 magazines and in the end kept the super street. lol

Turbo is one of my faves! But they could make it thicker!

SUPER STREET is my absolute fave... sorry! I know alot of people hate them but I have read their mag since I can remember being into 'imports'! They have the coolest cars, JDM and drift stuff too!

i like the may issue for hci they got a sick skyline and 240sx sweet cars and also 2 sick tricked out toyota's a '85 corolla and a sweet '91 mr2. my 2 brands of cars toyota and nissan. also love this mag cause it brings some tech of upgrading like that.

Super Street has sick cars, but they don't give enough info. Like thye don't give any numbers and half the time they don't even know what the guy is running under the hood if it's a japanese ride.

sport compact car is my favorite mag handsdown. they have very very good tech articles on all types of cars to keep my busy and entertained. plus their tech articles actually have substance. they're cars are not flashy, and only focuses on performance ( just the way i like it ), they also happen to be very very good drivers, and every tuner mag race event, they usually come out on top. this is due to their superior driving skills, and superior knowledge on every aspect such as braking, cornering, and power. i mean dave coleman won the scca rally event twice!!! and their project silvia as number 6 out of like 20 tuning mags ( such as car craft, mustang mag, and euro tuner), and the low ranking is because the silvia blew out a intercooler coupling during a track run which costed them a few seconds. but they posted faster 1/4 times the most of the v8 mags project cars, and out griped everyone of them. they also won the G games.

anyways Super street is trash as most of hte editors knows dick about cars. its almost a comedy to read their tech articles because i'm learning nothing from them. i know more about cars then they do. and they don't even know how to work on their own cars. plus their articles are very random. they would talk about noodles, diss each other out, then back to the car, then dissing each other out again. sorry not worth my money.

the next most techy mag would be Dsport. however its not thick enough. so as you tell, my taste for mag is more of which ever mag is harder to understand ( tech article wise )

SCC is the most technically inclined magazine. and they don't care what the current trend is. if a car is fast, and classifies as a sport compact, they'll do a story on it (volvo's, neon's, whatever). even if it's ugly as hell on the outside, but fast as fuck, they don't care and they'll do a story on it, and they definitley have the most technical know-how of any mag.

Super Street. the only reason i read it is because they feature the best cars from Japan, and have nice pictures. the writing is GARBAGE, alot of the time it's wrong, and the writers usually seem as if they're trying to piss you off with their inane, stupid, annoying jokes and quips in the articles. i'm soon to be cutting all the good pictures out of my Super Street's to make a collage, then happily burning what's left.

Turbo. annoys me.

HCI isn't too bad.

Grassroots is pretty cool.

and of course there's Option, Young Version, Battle Magazine and Option2....but i can only look at the pictures in those ones (i can't read japanese).

Sorry but I like to race. The problem with most mags is the feature cars are always showy pieces of crap, with a minimum of $100,000 into them that aren't practicle or realistic for the people reading the mags. Grassroots gets to the best part about cars, RACING. It features drift comps that you can enter, along with autocross, drag, and club racing. If you like to look at cars, grassroots can't compete with the others, but if you like to drive cars, Grassroots wins hands down. :2cents:

SCC is the best on Tech issues in my opinion, Turbo has the best features, they like Supras and thats why I like them.

SS is one mag I hate, as the following became big, they became arrogant, and always talki shit to anyone who puts out a suggestion, so I cancelled the subscription. SS is a piece of crap, it started out really tight, and then the issue became twice as thick, but the features and tech were still the same amount, it is all the advertisements that boare me to death. 1/2 the mag is ADS, 1/4 is a bunch of worthless crap, including stupid and lame jokes, and the remaining 1/4 are tech and features.

I do like the Euro MAX Power, they show b00bies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well since you did mention it, Max Power is a good one, It's a porno you don't feel weird buying. Nobody knowsd about it. Redline is another Euro mag that shows boobs. :naughty:They mix two great things together, girls and cars. The only crappy part about the mags are the cars though. The mods consist of intake and exhaust.

my mom goes to the UK or Ireland at least twice a year (i myself have been to Ireland 9 times and the UK 3 times), and every time she comes back she'll bring me car mags.

Max Power, Redline, Fast Car etc. are all hilarious in that they openly show tits, and the writing can be hilarious at times too (british dialogue and slang is hilarious). but the cars are (USUALLY) utter shit.

90hp Citroen's or "Pug's" (Peugeot) with an intake, exhaust, chromed engine bay, and $20,000 in ugly-ass body mods and rims.

but every once in a while they do feature some nice cars too.

one mag from the UK i like is BANSAI! it's specifically about Japanese cars, but for the most part they feature good rides, like EVO's, Supra's, RX-7's, S-chassis, Pulsar GTi-R etc. and not much in the way of ricey crap.

Austrailia and New Zealand have a couple of good mags too, like Fast Fours. can't remember what any of the others are called.

SCC - Awsome Tech articles and editorials

TPR - Good Tech articles, tons of dyno comparisons.

Option - Who cares you cant read it... SR20 powered Hachi :eek:

Import Tuner - flaming ass master crap. (pea green civic yea!)

I like ss, kind of dumb, some writers are pretty good. Cars are nice though, and the new one has so much sh1t in it on sr20s and ka24s. For option auto you need to hire a jap guy to translate it to you, I have 1 issue and my friend translated it for me (i paid him) pretty nice.

really i hate those mags, People in britain are too easily influenced by them, if a car looks new nad shiny then in their opinion it is good. I would like a 240...my friends now all want "mental saxos" :loser:.

the only magazine i have found in scotland that offers any amount of insight into real performance cars is "Japenese Performance" I recently found it and bought one edition. by british standards it is the best yet.

I was wondering can I take out a subscription to one of the american mags like ssc on their trial and have it sent here? IM sick of the lame british ones :disappoin
