jeep power bucking problemfaerie82 09-29-2004, 04:00 PM My 1998 Grand Cherokee is being a pain in my ass these days.... Some days (more and more often as time goes by... used to be every other week now avery other day if not more) Doesnt want to start... it tries to turn over but doesnt start... starts usually on the second try.. or the third... Only when it doesnt want to start, ill be driving, gasing and it is like it almost loses power. you go from 40mph to 5 in 1 second. then almosts sputters and continuse to sputter and go and sputter and go at 5 mph... Alas... if i pull over and restart the car it drives great... but now after about a month of this method ... restarting it doesnt always work... the problems just getting worse and worse.. Of course the mechanics have had it for weeks on end and nothing shows up on the diagnosis computer. So far we have replaced the crank sensors, the spark plug wires (which were rotted), Fuel pump and nothing is fixing it. Whats wrong with my car???????? faerie82 10-08-2004, 02:02 PM Please help Cam7 10-10-2004, 04:31 AM Did you check fuel pressure before and after installing a new fuel pump. Have to eliminate either fuel or ignition. I have had a bad fuel pump act this way also a CPS Sensor Cam Sensor and A bad ECM. A coil can also act in that way.Since you replaced the CPS and usally a cam sensor will take awhile before a restart. Which leads me to guess Fuel. Did they change fuel filter? Would have to check the Pressure and go from there. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
