Italeri Porsche 993suiteR 09-29-2004, 10:16 AM Started a while ago, but very slow progress... borrowed the wheels from Tamiya's PORSCHE 911 GT3 for trial. http://vorsicht.org.hk/forum/files/pict1694.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3234/51152PICT00951-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3234/51152PICT0096-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3234/51152PICT0097-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3234/51152PICT0098-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/3234/51152PICT0103-med.JPG Martbee 09-29-2004, 10:29 AM Very smooth. I love it. deedlit 09-29-2004, 10:42 AM Good start  I like this deep blue color. I would keep the Gt3 rims, they suit it very well. And I guess, the Italeri rims are not so accurate or 'in scale'. nervestrikes 09-29-2004, 10:59 AM Sweet job so far. She almost looks ready for crusin. suiteR 09-29-2004, 11:10 AM Thanks!! True that the original wheels from ITALERI are very shitty! I may either use these GT3 wheels or the 5-spoke of 996. Not yet decided!! Orion37170 09-29-2004, 01:13 PM Nice Project. Good colour-choice! Show us a pic of the other set of rims...but the gt3 indeed fit it well suiteR 09-29-2004, 01:51 PM borrowing the pic from someone at internet... this is the 996 wheel I might put onto the 993. http://carmodeler.net/images/2002porsche-04.jpg Orion37170 09-29-2004, 02:08 PM oh i remember..... might look cool aswell mike united 09-29-2004, 03:13 PM Looks really cool & that colour sets it off !!! Mike Ferrari TR 09-29-2004, 10:47 PM Nice! How's the fit on this one? :p PlumbedandWired 09-29-2004, 11:04 PM I like that colour - is there any engine detail on this one or strictly curbside? mel79 09-30-2004, 02:17 AM 993 is my favorite of 911:s and looks like you are doing a very good job with your model! The nachtblau (midnight blue) metallic might be the color of my choice if I ever have the finances to go shopping for a 1:1 993. Too bad that Italeri has stopped manufacturing these kits, I'd like to get the convertible and the non-turbo 993. It would be nice if Tamiya had had the sense to produce a 993 because Italeri kits do lack something in details, especially the wheels and headlights are appalling. I used wheels from Tamiya 996 on my 993 turbo (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=271052&highlight=993+turbo) . -Mikko suiteR 09-30-2004, 02:25 PM MEL79, you are so right about the kit. The wheels suck and I cannot stand having them on this car, just don't match a PORSCHE. I'm not yet done with the headlamp, perhaps will consider borrowing the parts from the GT2 kit of Tamiya. I purposely build this piece and in this midnite blue to memorized my friend's ex. She totaled the car months ago.... :banghead: Thanks for your comments !! GvEman 09-30-2004, 03:23 PM looks good as al of your models! i cant understand how you can have al those models going at the same time. Keep your good work upp! Porsche Carrera 09-30-2004, 06:34 PM Looking great! I love the idea of the Turbo wheels on it. hirofkd 10-02-2004, 12:59 AM I also didn't like Italeri's 993 wheels, so I bought Fujimi's Ruf 18 inch for my 993 kit. Ruf wheel is a common choice on the real 911, so it looks pretty good. robrex 10-04-2004, 01:07 AM Nice work so far. The wheels look much better than the stock ones.
