I'm just starting on this journey so any advice on how to proceed would be very much appreciated.

It appears that the mounting bracket for the driver's seat in my '99 GC has failed (again). A local mechanic inspected it and did a weld job to repair, but it appears that didn't hold.

I'm assuming the best move is to replace the whole bracket. Does anyone have advice on how to proceed with this whole process. Here's what I'm assuming: I need the part (assembly) number and then I need to find the part source (will this be a factory-only part?). Is there a place where you can search for parts to get part #s? Where do you search for these types of parts? Is there a place that provides instructions on removal/install (without buying a complete manual)? How do I determine if I need a mechanic to do this?
