Stalling problem

My wife has a 96 Neon. For some unknown reason it wants to stall. This usually happens when she pulls into the parking lot at her job after she has driven it 10 to 15 minutes without any problems.

I put new plugs in and a new fuel filter. I have run a couple bottles of fuel injector cleaner through the gas tank. It does this if the gas tank is full or not.

Any suggestions? We don't have a ton of money to take it to the shop. I would like to do this myself.

Thanks all

Could be a few things. You said it wants to stall, does it actually stall or does it just sputter? If it does stall, will it start right away, or does it have to sit a while?

I'm sorry. yes it does stall but it will start right away and can be driven again without stalling for a day or two.

I would have to say the throttle position sensor, EGR valve, or the Idle Air Control Valve. If the car has begun running rougher than normal I would lean toward the EGR IAC valves. I'm not positive on testing for these so pick up a Haynes repair manual on the car. Also, change the PCV valve and clean out the line with some compressed air first. If this is clogged it can cause problems. And there only about $3.

Thanks Joe! I will give those a try.
