another ohm ?Mannyb18b 09-27-2004, 04:32 PM what is the difference in characteristics if a sub is say single 2ohm, or single 4ohm, then to a double 2ohm or double 4ohm sub? what does it change in the sub? why would they make 8ohm subs if its gunna take a higher output amp to power them? and also, if an amp is hooked up to a single 4ohm sub, then hooked up to a double 4ohm sub, will the amps power be split? thanx 4 ne input Haibane 09-27-2004, 04:36 PM well... make an 8 ohm sub so you can slap more together :). There is no difference between different ohm subs:) sr20de4evr 09-27-2004, 04:48 PM the difference is the wiring options, that's all and like Haibane said, 8ohm subs are made so you can run them on a home theater stereo, or you can run 8 of them in parallel to a 1ohm stable amp in your car. :) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
