I'm just curious if $1200 is usualy enough to start hunting for a clean mechanicly sound FC or if I should save up abit more to make sure I dont get something that will only piss me off. I tried searching threw autotrader to see but all I saw was really crappy pictures that show virtualy nothing. :sly:

i would say at least double what u have to look for a good one. even then, good luck finding something good. however it can be done. i got a good deal on mine. but if u want a turbo u gonna need 3-4k at least to find a nice one.

depends on the location. i remember when i had a group upoc (the cell phone community) and i had a drifting group; all of the guys that had fcs had turbos and they cost them about 1200, but they were in either arizona or east bumblefuck.

hmm, well im in texas(DFW). Its agood place to buy muscle cars and what not. but yeah, an a hard top NA would be perfect for a rotary green pea like myself.
I guess I will have to look elsewhere for the time being or save up abit more..

get atleast 2k would be what I would say, Texas has a lot of 7's but they tend to be a little more expensive so maybe try looking out of state

actually, i saw a lot of good ones in tx when i was looking. almost went down for a couple, but i ended up getting mine from utah.
but for around maybe 1500-2k u should be able to find something, in tx. may take awhile, but keep looking as u save up and im sure u can find something.

i bought my N/A for $1200 here in Arizona and let me tell you its not easy to find a turbo car here i searched for 2 months and not a single turbo for sale so i had to buy my piece of crap Rx7 got it for $1200 and spent over $1000 and still not fixed. first electrical problems (car didnt crank) second clutch messed up third drive shaft messed up and now my rear and dash lights dont work. hey but thats what u get when u buy an abused car. but hopefully my car will be perfect in 3 months or so after i save enough for an S5 Turbo and trany

If your willing to make the trip Florida has a few 7s running around for pretty cheap or Nc. I got my old t2 for $650 from a guy that moved up from Florida and it was a great running car, and my current gxl I got at 350 but the engine was locked up but engine swaps are real easy. Just watch out for smoke and look for rust if you get 1 from some of the eastern states.

If you search hard enough you can find some good rx7's for $1200. Hell I'm in dallas and I kind of buy and sell 7's. Ive bought 2 different 1987 T2's for $1200 in the past (one running great, the other that I'm setting up for drifting now that needed some work but has an ungodly amount of extra's) I bought one 87 T2 that ran like shit but still ran for $250. My Gf's car is a 90 Gtu that was garage kept, 1 female owner and dealer serviced all of its life for $900. Also there was a 85 1st gen. with a full molded in body kit pearl white paint wheels full suspension for $800. And there have been a few more. So there are good deals in the area, good luck
