I haven't seen a direct comparison before, but I would say definitely not.

The G35 is a great handling car. But the Coupes and most of the Sedans are only RWD. Only the G35x sedan is equipped with the part time AWD ATTESA-ETS system. It has 260hp (17 more to be added on the 2005 models) and weights 3677lbs, the RWD models weight ~308lbs less.

Now the Evo is an full time AWD with 271hp and the RS (better model due to front locking diff) weights 3263lbs, the EVO with the bling bling spoiler, higher price, and an open front diff weights ~88lbs more. The 2005 is introducing the Evo MR which is basically a road legal version of the full out rally cars.

I see no comparision, the EVO is designed for extreme handling that rallies require. The G35/Skyline has become a luxury car, nice luxurious handling, but I haven't seen any Japanese tuners developing it to even try to compete against the EVO, of anything else for that matter.

Evos are the best bang for buck Japanese car I cant think of. But the new Skyline coupe (G35) is still a pretty nice car.

I don't think the G35 has HICAS. It's quite a different car from the Evo, anyway. It would almost be like comparing an M5 and a Viper.

evos strike me as raw and mean and all aboutpower and handling with a total disregard for aesthetics, whereas as skylines are less power crazy and do care about aesthetics!

The G35 is an Infiniti. This is a Skyline forum.

, the EVO with the bling bling spoiler, higher price,

So you're saying that the G35 is under $25k? Every evo 8 (GSR) I have seen for sale is 25-28k USD brand new.

I like both cars, the Evo, and the Skyline. I can post whereever I feel like posting.

This should be in the G35 forums

But yea, both cars are awsome, but I like the G35 more.

The Evo8 is for drifting and do rally races, so it HAS to have good turning. So i think the evo8 could outhandle the G35

Evo8 isnt really a [street] drift car....ive heard its quite hard to drift AWD cars because of the 50-50 power ratio between the wheels.

i street drifting meaning more along the lines of the drifting we all know about, not rally drifting.....for reference.

Infiniti is the name that nissan markets its luxury cars under in the US. the skyline is one of the many cars that is under an Infiniti name.

Ok, the G35 is an Infiniti. It is not a skyline. Now, the V35 is a Nissan and is a Skyline. But, they are just about the same, with the exception of a few parts and ponies. Now the V35 350GT is the "replacement" for the GT-R trimline. Any questions?

jmrev

the v35 is the skyline, just like the rsx is the integra, nameplates change and other minor mods change......still the same cars.

Now the V35 350GT is the "replacement" for the GT-R trimline.

I noticed the use of quotation marks, but The Skyline 350GT is only the range-topping Skyline, not a GT-R replacement. It's a sedan, for crying out loud. Even if you were talking about the CPV35 Skyline 350GT Coupe, it still wouldn't apply. The CPV35 is not Nissan's halo car, a title reserved for the Fairlady/350 Z(until the new GT-R comes). The current V35s are probably among the best ever non-GT-R Skylines, but they are not replacements for the GT-R.

the evo is better but skylines are 2doors, the evo does kill the skyline v35. In a long run there both even.

the evo is better but skylines are 2doors

Skylines are 2 or 4 doors. The R3x body GTR's are 2 doors only. But the others, including the V35, are available as 2 or 4 doors. Presently, the only awd V35 is available in the 4 door. Which is now in the US, as the G35x.

Also, both the Infiniti G35s and the Nissan Skylines are V35s. The V35 is the body code designation, they are the same body and have the same body codes.

what i tried to say was that: there is an available version of a coupe in a skyline, the evo is a sedan.

Ahhh... He said Transatlantic, and said bloody, so he's from the UK. They can get Skylines into their country.

Now, if he had said Transpacific, then you could try to say that.

I wish they would just call it the R35. confuses the crap outta ppl who are used to Infiniti G35

VQuick

Well it isn't the R35. There may never be one. Since the next GT-R will be based on the V36 Skyline's chassis, it may just skip ahead to R36.
