Transmission jerky shift , dealer responseglass 09-25-2004, 06:36 PM in a post by SAEAPP dated 9-16-04, subject "any ideas RE trans issues, the last response on page 3 indicated that the dealer traced the cause to a faulty govener solinoid, and a transducer .... Question ..where are these item located ??, if they are in the transmission it self , then why does my 1994 4.0 full time 4x4 GC, after a complete trans overhaul ,for jerky bump in 1 st gear... still have the bumpy jerk start when at a stand still, when gas is applied , and most noticed when on a slight uphill incline,.... never seems to do it on a downhill start , I personally bought the chrysler ATF+ 3 fluid for refill on overhaul , I also changed the oxy sensor , Idle controll valve. and throttle sensor , did the complete tune up replacement parts .... my symptoms include a sluggish takeoff when gas is applied from a standstill, it feels like it s going to takeoff instantly as a normal car should , then seems to skip to the slower speed , manual shifting the auto trans seems to bypass this , any thought s are appreciated , as this site seems to be the best one around for help dksob81 09-25-2004, 09:46 PM take it to a Jeep Dealer and have them scan the TCM (tranny Control module) they will be able to tell u exactly what it is. I think it is the Gov. and transducer symptons are the same. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
