A/C leaks?mkvapil 09-24-2004, 07:44 PM My Jeep is blowing out hot air again after the second recharge in 3 months. Tech says condenser/evaporator leaks. I went to look under the hood and noticed a hose that goes to the firewall is all oily. Is that the source of the leak? Could there be more leak in the condenser? Thanks. ChadEbert 09-24-2004, 07:51 PM How old is the Jeep? There are several hoses back there, your local shop can fix the condenser and recharge it. Its been my experience that the condenser is usualy the cause of the leaks, Byron or msrjeep are far more tech-savvy that I am and they'll definately know more. mkvapil 09-24-2004, 09:23 PM It's a '99 Grand Cherokee Laredo with I-6. Just trying to find a way out to save $900 repair estimate. drkman 09-29-2004, 08:18 PM In case you didn't know, Chrysler has a condenser problem, and has a tech bulletin out. They will replace the leaky condenser free as part of the factory service bulletin. I had this done last year when my condenser began leaking. It was free. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
