I just bought a 93 and it did the same thing until my electrical system ate caca. I do know that there is a "lamp outage module" inside the emergency fuel door on the left side in the cargo area, it might suck. I have not been able to troubleshoot mine since I had the other electrical problem, but after I fix that I was going to see if the bulbs on either side were the same. I am thinking it may sense an imbalance between the resistances on each side. just a thought.

Ok, the "REAR LAMP FAILUre" , everyone has this problem sometime in there jeep...lol

have someone start the jeep, turn your light on, and check for any bulbs out (I had this problem could not find any bulbs burnt out , I checked over them 3 times, check bulbs at night easier to see), have them hold the brakes in check the high mount stop light there are three bulbs in there make sure they are all fine, have them put it in reverse make sure both the reverse lights work, also check the 2 license plate bulbs make sure the are working.

ok my problem after looking for a bad bulb couldn't find one, dam it. light still on. then the next day I remembered about the license plate bulb was sure I would find it here, nope both are good. had a friend check my brake lights while i held the brake in, he said they were all good, put it in reverse nope they were good, so I found nothing.
Well after a few days of that annoying beeping, I decided to check the lights again one night when we went to the store, I had my g/f hold the brakes while I looked, and there it was one of the damn bulbs in the high mount stop light was out (Hummmm thought I had someone check that, shows how dependable some friends are when they are in a hurry to get to the trails to throw some mudd around), well anyways changed the bulbs and needless to say that was 6 months ago and all is good.

Check the High Mount Brake Light in the upper liftgate, this is prolly where ur problem is, make sure u look very carefully over all the lights.

What about the "coolant sensor bad" message? I have had this one for quite awhile. Had the coolant sensor replaced and this did not fix the problem.

is there coolant in the reserve tank? DUMB QUESTION, but sometimes it's the simple things that are hard to find.

No problem. Was thinking that might be the problem or the coolant level sensor was bad, but the level sensor has gone off when the coolant has been low and after I filled the resovoir it went away. Took it to the dealership(they were the ones who said I had a bad fuel pump) and they were not able to recreate the problem. Recreate the problem? The sensor says bad on the VIC. I paid $98 bucks for nothing. Only Jeep dealership in Chicago, there service is not too good.

quick question, when the coolant sensor was replaced did they disconnect the battery cable and reset the computer. I have seen it happen before. Just a thought
