help me my jeep bled antifreeze everywhereRabegirl 09-22-2004, 09:16 PM what does a tune up generally include? if they replace all hoses during a tune-up, then they shouldn't be screwed up for a while right? and how long should a new radiator last?? and finally if not a hose or radiator, what could be the cause of a severe leak of almost all my antifreeze while parked? jeeper61 09-22-2004, 09:28 PM if all the other stuff you mentioned was good then it would be the waterpump shaft seal ChadEbert 09-22-2004, 09:31 PM why is the sky blue? why does a cat have whiskers? Uhm yah, I think jeeper nailed it, seems like the last and only thing to go if all the other stuff is relatively new. Rabegirl 09-22-2004, 09:32 PM is that expensive to fix? does it take a while to have fixed? jeeper61 09-22-2004, 10:04 PM the check is to see if there is wet under the waterpump hub where the pully mounts. the pump for the 4L I6 is $35 at autozone and the V8 is $65 or $37 depending on quality. Shop charges wouldnt be for more than 4 hours for sure. dont know what the shop rate is in your area - $60 to 95 here depending on dealer or private. Rabegirl 09-22-2004, 10:07 PM okay. thank you sooooo much. should it be able to drive? msrjeep 09-22-2004, 10:19 PM not if it's juicing antifreeze, it could easily overheat. especially if it's all gone! Rabegirl 09-22-2004, 10:49 PM i only mean to a repair shop. and if i try to put antifreeze into it before i head out for said shop. jeeper61 09-22-2004, 10:56 PM depends on how far to the shop and how big the leak is. fill up the rad - leave the rad cap loose at the first notch and take extra water with you. might let it run in the driveway for a while and check it before you leave then check it sometime during the trip if its a ways to the shop. - got a friend who can help you and follow you? - and a cell phone?? good luck - let us know how the fix turned out. Rabegirl 09-22-2004, 11:04 PM yesh i will do. it shouldn't be too far at the most it's gonna be 20 miles if i'm really unlucky and i have a friend who should help me and a cell too. i will let y'all know how it turns out. ChadEbert 09-22-2004, 11:14 PM good luck. Rabegirl 09-24-2004, 01:39 PM it's fixed. it will cost me an arm, my leg, and i think my firstborn child or if i have no children, it will be my left kidney. :p it was the water pump. thankfully i have it fixed now. and i can go home to my v'burg. :D thank you for all y'all's help ChadEbert 09-24-2004, 02:43 PM exactly why we have two kidneys, you can spare one. Just don't ever buy an Audi, most repairs take both kidneys. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
