hey i am thinking about trading my camaro for an 88 ford ranger...its 2.9l and its 5 speed he said it needs the main fuel pump (the truck has 3, one at each tank (2 tanks) and the main one) does anyone know how much it is or how hard it is to replace? and also where is it located?

thx in advance.. ShoX.

I dunno where the pump itself is, but they can usually be done fairly easily if i remember my Grandpa's '89 ranger... seems to me he did it himself and he's not as mechanically inclined as i am so should be a problem.

As far as cost, i haven't a clue either. Sorry i can't be of more help.

The main pump is mounted to the inside of the LEFT frame rail under the cab. No fuel pump is easier to replace.
