i need help finding my turn signal fuse.. the cover for my fuse box on the driver's side is gone so i don't know which fuse is which (i don't even know if it originally came with a map)... i looked at the fuse box cover under the hood on the driver's side near the front and i don't think those fuses have anything to do with the turn signals (i think its for the popup lights, horn, a/c..) is there another fuse box in the engine bay that i haven't found or are the turn signal fuses in the fuse box behind the kick panel on the driver's side??

things i guess i should include:
1993 240sx 5-speed (you never know)

problem:
turn signals are flashing REALLY quickly when i have them on (4-ways do it too)

what i have done so far:
check that all the lights actually work (they do)

so i think i've covered everything i need to.. just so i don't get flamed for not including small details.. :licka: if the fuses are ok, would there be anything else i should look at that would make them flash really quickly??

thanks in advance

free signal kit... sounds pretty cool to me. haha. naw but i'm not sure what the problem is. I wouldn't mind finding out though.

The fuses are located on the inside panel by your feet. Check'em out, and double check that all the bulbs work.

It should be on the back on the panel I believe.

just pull each one and see if they fuses are blown, if not put them back in where they belong. So take one out, look at it, put it back, take another out, look at it, put it back. Like j spec said the label is behind the kick panel when you remove that cover.

dude you dummies, checking fuses is about the easiest fucking thing to do on a car

first off you need the proper tool

it will look like a screwdriver kind of, with a light on the end, a needle for a point, and a wire comming out the end with an alligator clip

turn you key to the ON position

put the alligator clip on a ground source, a piece of metal that does not have power going to it.....

then check every fuse, each fuse has two holes in it for the prong to fit in, the light should either not work or work for both holes of the same fuse, if it works on one side of the fuse and not the other, its a blown fuse... you don't need to know which fuse is the tail light one, just check them all it only takes about 30 seconds........

also your blinkers could blink fast for a number of reasons, not just the tail lights out... could be any light on the car front or rear plus the signals....

i know what tool to use and i would use it if i had one. and all the lights work. i'm smart enough to try that. all i can think of is maybe a problem with the fuse or wiring (since the wiring in the rest of the car is a disaster, you never know, something could be wrong)

and my kick panel is gone cause the guy who owned it before had custom speakers put in, in place of the kick panels... so when i took the ugly annoying things out i had no kick panels.. its all exposed.. i have no map

i'll try taking each one out and visually inspecting them but its not always easy to tell.. Grenyaer, that map would be key.. whenever you can

go buy the tool, what happens if two are blown? or the first one u thought is not even blown? its a good tool to have

it is easy to tell....the little metal wiring in the fuse, if it looks connected it is good. if it is disconnected or "blown" then it is bad. Not really hard or just get a light tester like ^ said.

or you can buy the tool use it then return it saying "it is not what expected" or something like that. I call it free "renting" lol
