I have a 93 lesabre limited with 170,000 miles, it's a 3.8litre or 3800 v-6.
About 2 months ago it started stalling out when stopping. I replaced the TPS, MAF, IACV, plugs, fuel filter, trns. filter and pcv. It seemed fixed and ran fine for a few weeks then started acting up again. It starts fine and runs fine down the road, but when I slow or stop it wants to chug and try to die out, sometimes catching itself and idles fine again. It does this in all gears and nuetral. I am considering the lock up torque converter solenoid, and the cam angle sensor, I will check the ground wires under the coil pack, all wires and battery.

I do not have access to a code puller and have been out of work for 8 months with little cashflow. So it goes without saying, I need to hit the nail on the head soon.

unplug the tcc and see if your problem goes away. IF it does, you found it.

richtazz, I was doing some random searching and found a rusty pole on the coil pack, the other 5 were nice and shiney. I cleaned off the rust put on some new wires and my wife took the car to work. She called and said it ran fine. I hope this is not just a coincidence. It has a history of running fine , then not.
A week ago, I unplugged what I thought was the TCC and the car wouldnt shift out of first. Burnt my arm on the exhaust plugging it back in. I must have unplugged the wrong one. Not sure where the TCC plug is on my 93 buick 3,8 ltr. I know to look on the side pan now, but I'm still guessing.

sounds like a bad wire was your problem, as that would cause bad performance at low rpm. Keep and eye on that coil pack tha t had the rust on it, if it comes back, change it, as your coil may be carbon arcing and it's just a matter of time before it starts acting up again. If the rust doesn't come back, it may have been caused by the bad wire arcing, and your troubles are fixed.
