I noticed my Neon was leaking oil but it seemed to leak ONLY when driving -a hot leak. There was only a couple drops when I checked my overnight parking spot but somehow I was losing a quart a week and I recently replaced the head gasket. After a couple weeks the leak got much worse and the oil light came on -I would lose about 5 quarts an hour, the car would smoke from under the hood when I stopped from the oil burning off the exhaust. I looked for a leak and tried to spot the leak with a dye you put in your oil and a blacklight without luck. I researched a little and came up with the oil pressure sending unit. Appearantly when the oil pressure gets too high in your car the oil pressure sending unit wheeps (pisses oil). So I spent the $14 on a new sending unit and $7 on a switch socket to replace it. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SWITCH SOCKET! (21 mm deep set socket) If you are stubborn like me you will spend 3 hours under your oily car trying to remove the old sending unit only to go back and get the right tool.

Hope this helps some poor sucker...

-Chuck
