After earlier posting by me, and reading other similar problems, I need to replace my crank sensor. Couple of questions about this:

1) Dealer wants $86 for it. NAPA $50 something. Is this one of those items that the aftermarket is sufficient for?

2) Any tips or things to watch out for, from any of ya'll that have done this before.

Thanks

Yes, i did mine about 2 months ago, turnd out i needed to replace my coil instead, but anyway, its a real bitch! the sensor is located on the block behind the head on the passenger side between the fire wall and the head. you will need to pop the relay out of the body right above the distributor and pull the plug wires back. use an allen wrench on a 1/4 inch socket set up. snake you hand down behind, use an inspection mirror to see it and use plenty of light.

good luck, i still have scars on the back of hands from that one.

Thanks leowolf. that's the kind of useful info I need. Got a service manual after buying the GC years ago. It's a good manual, but as always there's something has to be moved first, or the path of getting something out and in isn't always clear.

thanks
