Hyde get's the front wheels off the ground! & sets record!JekylandHyde 09-21-2004, 07:16 AM http://www.yourphotograph.com/albums/weatherlyhillclcimb/hj9s3471w.htm See why Hill Climb racing is fun?! ... ok, ok ... I did not do a wheelie, but the front wheels are off the ground! Wow ... what a weekend. I raced at the Weatherly SCCA Solo 1 Hill Climb. Hurricane Ivan leftovers caused Saturday to be a wash out. They run hill climbs rain-or-shine, but I do not :) so I skipped Saturday. Fabio and I drove up today (Sunday). He was not racing, just spectating. He ran the Spring Weatherly event and set the record for SM2 at 63.9 seconds (1 mile course). Since I had never even seen this road before and it was a bit slippery this morning (cold ashpalt, not dampness) my first run was a scouting mission. I just needed to know where to go. So I had a very casual 74 second run! lol I would say this was a "perfect race day." There was improvement on every run and I know where/when/how/why I improved ;) These were the runs: 74.x 57.0 55.0 54.1 (.2 tenths off the record) 53.2 (beating record by .7 tenths!) Unfortunately, I was the only car in SM2 so it was a "hallow" 1st place victory. I was running low boost (15 psi) on street tires. This was Fabio's first year seeing this event as well, so I am anxious to see where our battle takes us next year! THANKS ATS RACING! ... Fisher's Metal Finishing, World Motorsports & Turboforums.net. The course: a long straight (tops out 3rd) into an uphill righthand sweeper. This leads into a 180° left that is incredibly steep (can't take the racing line on the inside - way too steep) ... short straight into turn 3, "The Wall." This is another 180° turn to the right, but it is so steep on the inside lane, they call it the wall. You have to go outside the whole way. This leads into the 3rd 180° turn back to the left. Extremely short staright into a 90° right that ends at the "jump" ... most cars get partial or total air here. After the jump, it dips into slight down hill left sweeper that gradually goes uphill to the finish.
