Hello everyone,

I have a 95 Honda Civic with automatic transmission. I bought it only 4 months ago. It has 77000 miles on it.

Lately there seems to be a transmission related problem. The rpm goes higher than normal before the car shifts into a higher gear with a little jerk.

I showed it to a mechanic, he says its a problem related to pressure loss in the prime. He tells me it's a fixable problem, and it will cost around $1000.

Can anyone explain, what is meant by "pressure loss in prime ?" Has anyone had similar experience? I am going to get it fixed anyway, but do you think the price is right?

I would really appreciate your response.

Thank you,

Ramdas.
