I Bought a 95 yesterday 2.2 and when i bought it they said it was the timing chain. husbands says he thinks it's not getting gas. he got down to the timing chain and it all looks good????? it will start but sputters and backfires and dies if you don't keep on the gas..... any ideas???????????? please help! public 09-19-2004, 11:33 PM Clean the IAC valve and the IAC port. These get very dirty. Also clean the fuel injectors and check the pressure regulator. Once you get it right these genines are bulletproof. My 89 2.0 just turned over 297,900. It is ugly but it don't stop.
