I am having some problems with getting the wiper arms off the car. How do you get them off? 88 cavalier

Push up on the release lever and pull it off the shaft.

there is a little tab at the base of the arm. Pick the arm up off the windshield, pull the tab outward to release the lock, and lift the arm straight up.
