How much money?95dxcivic 09-19-2004, 03:42 AM Hey everyone, how much money do you guys think you would need to do everything you want for your car? Explain what mods if you can. Stay reasonable. NerveAgent 09-19-2004, 04:03 AM engine swap..b16b ctr engine. thats about 4'g. ctr front lip and rear about 600 for both. paint job 1500. rims 500. about 7 g's 1g's on suspension. about 8 more or less. CivicSiRacer 09-19-2004, 06:45 AM I'm already done :) http://home.dejazzd.com/mlouie/mikecivicsi.html 95dxcivic 09-20-2004, 12:36 AM I think that I would need about $25,000 to get my car just how I want it. I want a type r front lip made of abs plastic, a mesh grill, black paintjob, red and white tails, black housing headlights, 16 or 17 inch bronze or white rims, oem carbon fiber hood, oem fiberglass fenders, and bomex mirrors. I think that would be around 4,000 to 5,000 on the exterior. For the performance, I would want a turbo b18c1, and maybe strong internals for more boost. That would probably be around 10,000. Maybe about 2,500 for suspension and another 2,500 for interior. Also 5,000 for audio and engine dress up. That sums up to about 25,000. I would be satisfied with that but much more money can be spent. Miataracer 09-20-2004, 12:53 AM lol. my car has about 7,000 in it now which consists of buying the car, swapping in a b18c1, brake upgrade with gsr rear disc, rota wheels, and hondata s200 with boost. i expect another 3,000 or so to be spent getting the rest of the parts i need to build my own turbo kit and i want AGX's with GC coils 95dxcivic 09-20-2004, 11:13 PM a clutch upgrade would also be necessary for the extra power. Thats maybe 500. I'm not sure. Also a bigger radiator a better water pump and fuel pump, an intake manifold and throttle body. Cam gears and pullies would also be good. Ignition upgrades could also be added. Im not sure how much that would be but I want all that too. Maybe I just went into the $30,000+ range. 95dxcivic 09-20-2004, 11:16 PM I'm already done :) http://home.dejazzd.com/mlouie/mikecivicsi.html How much money did it take you to accomplish this? 97CivicX 09-20-2004, 11:41 PM finish up the turbo=500, exhaust=300ish, wheels+tires=600-800, suspension=600, body work+paint=1000+ and im sure it will all end up being more with me needing more parts. id say under 10k though Miataracer 09-21-2004, 01:40 AM a clutch upgrade would also be necessary for the extra power. CivicSpoon 09-21-2004, 02:14 AM I'd say $10,000-11,000 maybe a few hundred more for me. I'm not too much into cosmetic styling, aka body kits and rims, so it'd be cheaper for what I want to do. What I plan or would like to do is LS/Turbo, ITR tranny (w/LSD of course), good shocks/springs, swaybars, high grip tires (already have slipstreams for rims that I got for $200 *oh yeah*), gadgets (ie turbo timer, AEM EMS or Hondata, boost gauge, wideband sensor, etc.), leather gsr front seats, red/clear tail lights, fiberglass hood (doesn't stand out like CF), wings west rs kit (i don't consider it a body kit because it's just lips and sideskirts), and NSX/Ferrari F1 red paint job. I want to keep my car clean and simple, no massive bling here; helps keep cops and robbers away (I'm paranoid enough as it is and refuse to take medication anymore if you really want to know the truth {maybe a little too much info}). stook02780 09-21-2004, 05:11 PM Life is good til you get credit. I was 18, good job, good money, no bills, no credit $12k in the bank, 94 civic that i slowly poured money into. Wanted to go all out on it. Engine, suspension, interior, extrerior. But then I got credit, turned 19, got an S2000, Bye Bye money. I'm stuck paying on my car alone $526/month for 60 months. Then insurance another 236 -> Speeding ticket -> now 281/month Then the credit started building up, and I go and get a ATV. $128/month. A year passes, and i new something bigger and better. Keep paying for that one and add on another $160/month for the new one. Then theres credit card bills, cell phone bills, Gas... oh yes that 4 cylinder S is a gas hog. I'm lucky to hit 250 miles a tank around town. I'm still at the same job, ,making more money, but its just enough to get by. You just can't have more then one hobby. After all the money i spent on that civic its just sitting in my yard now with a for sale sign for over a year now. I'll never see that money back. If you're gonna invest in a car, might as well be one thats worth it and fairly new. I'd love to sell that civic just to get a comptech aftercooled supercharger for my S, but that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon. I'm slowly putting as much as i can afford on the S, but its getting there 95dxcivic 09-21-2004, 11:37 PM stock water pump should be fine as long as it isnt old. What do you consider old? Because my car has 140,000 miles on it and by the time I get the swap it will have maybe another 25,000-30,000 more miles.(I'm getting the swap till im 17 or 18. But I'm saving for a d15b v-tec for now.) Will this pump still be able to be used even if a larger radiator is installed and with that much use? BuiltV-TecKiller 09-29-2004, 03:07 AM After it's all said and done, you end up spending more than you think. If my car exceeds the price of my home, I know I've spent too much. ww667 10-15-2004, 06:49 AM well ok frst thing first b16b it is about 4G new rims 1.4G (with shiping) Custum interior 2G Sound and entertaimnet system 4G Turbo full setup 2G body kit 1G paint job 2G i love it when it is shiny :) suspention (air) 2G so it is aout 18G But i know i would find way to spend some more on som preformance and styling upgrades. hmzz if it is 25G in styling and 8G a car... Should i just get myself a new 2005 mustand ???? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
