I have a 97 dodge, with 95,000 miles that has not been used for pulling or hauling the transmission sounds like something is lose in it, kind of rattles if you are in gear (forward or reverse) and go up to about 100 rpm's. Seems to shift fine no slipping or jerking, it whined when you put it reverse for a while but it stopped doing that. I also have a problem with it running like it has a bad plug, new plugs helped a little, was told either had nylon bushing on distributor, or spray throttle body real good with carb cleaner

This was kind of of weird rattling i thought too was in my transmission, and itwas runnin bad. But i got had got the cat converter fixed, and all is well. The rattling went away where i thought it was in the trans but it was the cat rattling.

Agreed, its very common for dodge truck cats to break internally, causing a rattle most noticable in a high load situation.
