Yellow Line paint on front of car!!! s1158542 09-16-2004, 06:42 PM 4ss4s1n 09-17-2004, 06:00 AM Well, first of all,you might want to see if the paint can be removed with your fingernail. If so,then it will most likely come out in a regular wash. If not, then you can use some Bug & Tar removers, just let them set a little bit before rubbing them.Turtle Wax's bug and tar remover worked ok in removing road paint for me. For more info, check this link http://tinyurl.com/6qoj9 arabiata 09-20-2004, 04:54 PM I have the same problem and I tried the bug and tar remover and it doesn't work !!! koeb$ 09-21-2004, 12:49 AM do not use ur finger nail, unless ur car is white or silver( they dont realy show scratches). u can dab some paint thinner onto a rag n gently rub the paint spots, then rub off teh paint thinner, or if the paint is pretty fresh u can get some of that orange cleaner/degreaser n rub the paint spots ec437 09-21-2004, 01:04 AM DO NOT use paint thinner. EVER. Go get a clay bar for $15 and it'll take it right off. repeat: NO PAINT THINNER!!! koeb$ 09-21-2004, 01:11 AM clay does not remove paint, it removes overspray, rail dust, small sap, etc koeb$ 09-21-2004, 01:12 AM if u let the pain thinner settle into the paint then it will damage but for small quick swipes it will cause not damage, i repeat No Damage ec437 09-21-2004, 01:15 AM isn't overspray what he has? koeb$ 09-21-2004, 01:16 AM no, he has actual yellow raod paint mospeed1 09-21-2004, 05:37 PM Clay Bar!!! f1guy68 09-23-2004, 11:23 AM Well, I would suggest trying the clay bar as well! I feel though that it might be hardened enough to require a different technique! I would also suggest that you use a small amount of lacquer thinner, and use it as sparingly as possible! If the paint is BC/CC you can use a little more, but if you have SS paint, use as least as possible! You WILL have to re-wax the area's affected after using the lacquer thinner! I hope the clay works, but if the paint is really hard, you're going to need to soften it up! Good Luck! incredible before and after: (just wanted to show what can be done after you drive over an aerosol can of paint) http://www.detailcity.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2280&stc=1 http://www.detailcity.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2283&stc=1 Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
