98 style grille on a 91?wally91vhevrolet 09-16-2004, 11:47 AM I have a 91 silverado n ive seen ppl put 98 style grilles on them.. is it as easy as they make it? Does it just bolt right on using the stock screws and holes and does it match up right? I really love the style of those grilles and found one i can get for $106 with a chrome bowtie so now i want to get this even more. I just wanna know if its easy or not. chevytrucks92 09-16-2004, 03:29 PM I think you have to buy some kind of kit in order to do that, but I'm not real sure. I do know you'll need new corner lenses. The park lights will work but they will be dingy looking by now, so a new set of those would be a no brainer. wally91vhevrolet 09-16-2004, 04:02 PM Yea im gonna get the halo style headlights and crystal clear paking lights and also clear corners..... i dnt believe u have 2 get a kit cause i looked at my friends n the bolt holes and everything are pretty much identical.. but when i do get the grille im gettin clear corners cause i know u have 2 have new corner lights.. im thinkin the grilles r the exact same size and the new one will bolt right on but i just wanted 2 know from some1 that has already done it.. lol broughy84 09-16-2004, 05:54 PM a friend of mine did it to his 89, the grille bolts right on. new headlights, turnsignals, and corner lights will set it off....expecially the clear ones! silveradoman 09-16-2004, 11:43 PM remember it is bassically the same chassis and fenders, GMs not going to reinvent the wheel every four years (god knows they have enough to worry about) wally91vhevrolet 07-01-2005, 06:43 PM Update, put on new style grille a while back, no problem but ended up ordering 98 style bumper filler which was almost a nesesity, looks great now tho all went 2gether good 98SilvyKid 07-01-2005, 06:56 PM I've seen the pics of your truck. Man it looks bad@ss. Good job on the build-up. I was wondering how much those halo lights cost. wally91vhevrolet 07-01-2005, 06:58 PM thanks, they were $120 or so on ebay, it was a great deal too, kinda hard 2 hook up but well worth it 98SilvyKid 07-01-2005, 07:02 PM Yeah it looks good. I liked your truck so much I put your page on my favorites list. Another thing, how did you do your interior. I like the black with red vents but was curious how you set that up. wally91vhevrolet 07-01-2005, 07:37 PM pulled the whole dash out, painted it using interior paint from advanced autos, it was their vinyl + fabric paint, worked great, it was all a pain but well worth it vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
