i think i need to change my timing belt..i need to know roughtly how much i will have to spend at the shop..thanks...

I'd say anywhere between 150-350 for labor.

belt will cost u about $50. also do the water pump too. thats like another$40 or $50. if ur water pump breaks down the line then ur gonna have to pay the same amount of money to replace it. the cost of labor for the timing belt change will be about 150-300 bucks. mine cost zero dollars cuz i did it myself

average price is about 200, and it's a bitch to do yourself, unless you've got your own shop. you should look around first before you take it in to get changed. look for the best deal. and you might want to watch what the machanic does. when i had mine changed recently, both belts were changed, but my water pump belt snapped two days later. damn mechanic put it in wrong and it started rubbing. got it replaced for free though.

The whole job should be around 400 bucks for parts and labor in most shops.
