There are numerous differences. Stop being so lazy and do some research. high_on-rice 09-15-2004, 04:40 PM i was wondering whats the difference between GSR and type R and wich would be better for an all motor set up and what year is the better any and all replies will be greatly apreciated  Neutrino 09-15-2004, 04:43 PM well since you want an all motor setup which is the euphemism for NA, why did you post it in Forced Induction? Moved to engineering technical CivicSpoon 09-15-2004, 04:53 PM Type R=better all motor. Higher compression, better flowing head, better cams, stock LSD, better stock intake and exhaust manifold ('98+ for the exhaust anyways), and about 20 more hp. I remember seeing something about the '98+ ITR having slightly better engine internals on one of my Best Motoring videos; but I can't remember what was better. mellowboy 09-15-2004, 06:57 PM Its the same shit really. Both 1.8 ltr. The only thing the type r has is a better head. Both are very good choices no matter what. GSR is much cheaper though. About the internals ...dont matter if you gonna build it up anyways right? ;) b18 ls 09-15-2004, 10:40 PM Big diff in suspension......... mellowboy 09-15-2004, 10:44 PM Big diff in suspension......... Now that u mentioned that...i dunno if hes talkin about the cars or the motors itself? CivicSpoon 09-15-2004, 11:28 PM Yeah I was just assuming he ment motor because he asked for all motor, but yeah if he ment car; then yeah quite a bit of difference. B1SiR6A 09-16-2004, 02:44 AM Do some research and learn the differences between the two cars then make your OWN decision based on what you can afford and exactly what you want to do with the car....trust me you cant go wrong... mellowboy 09-16-2004, 12:09 PM Yeh if it was cars...definitely the type R would be the best choice. Best handling in honda/acura next to the s2000 :) high_on-rice 09-16-2004, 05:13 PM hows the LS suspension holdin up? MR2Driver 09-16-2004, 06:16 PM I'd say the NSX and S2000 would fight for 1st and 2nd, the Type R would be a distant 3rd... b18 ls 09-16-2004, 09:11 PM ^I agree, but who can afford them........ mellowboy 09-16-2004, 10:01 PM I'd say the NSX and S2000 would fight for 1st and 2nd, the Type R would be a distant 3rd... Well yeh your right. :) almxdupintegra 09-17-2004, 06:21 AM Go with the Type R hands down. mellowboy 09-17-2004, 12:02 PM Both are good for all motor set ups and even turbo. IF you want better handling, the type R is the 3rd best handling next to nsx/s2000. Its also lighter than a gsr. mellowboy 09-17-2004, 12:05 PM if you know that little about Integras a highly recommend that YOU DO NOT get one. WTF? That doesn't mean he shouldn't get one. Its not like hes buy'n an exotic car  BeEfCaKe 09-17-2004, 07:10 PM well since you want an all motor setup which is the euphemism for NA, why did you post it in Forced Induction? Moved to engineering technical How is this "engineering technical", this should be in the Honda/Acura forums... haven't been here in 2 weeks, and all I see are these honda threads here in engineering... for a second I thought there was something wrong with my computer... CivicSpoon 09-17-2004, 07:45 PM They redesigned the Honda/Acura forums and got rid of our Technical sub forum, and merged all our threads into this one. Some of us are trying to get it changed back to the way it was (link in my signature). But I think you're right, this thread doesn't seen technical related at all, the original poster has this exact topic in the Integra forum anyways. Don't know why they moved it here instead of just closing it... Don't know why they moved it here instead of just closing it... well since he wanted technical knowledge about honda engines and since the acura/honda tech section moved here...i've moved it here. i was not aware he did a duplicate thread in the integra forum. I will merge the two treads now. And please refrain from making duplicate threads :) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
