Feathering

Ok Here’s my feathering problem. I have a May 2003 and noted the problem at 6000 in Dec 2003. The dealer just rotated the front tires and the feathered tread was now on the outside of each tire.

All most like clock work the problem came back at 12,000. A dealer by my job jacked off three times by adjusting the two and on the third time I told them about the 6000 situation and they re-rotated the tires back to the factory state.

My problem is my car roars when stopping and my mileage and tire wear is no enough to for the Dealer to replace my tires. The feathering has a two year 21000 limit free tire replacement, I tried calling the Nissan NO Customer service and they would no instructed the dealer to replace my tires. I want my car to ride like it did. I would buy new tires and leaver the dealer alone but I am not convinced my feathering problem has been corrected.

Please advise how I can get this problem correct and get new tires from the dealer to ensure the problem is resolved.

Also I will have to make am extra effort to get another 6000 miles before May 2005.

I would push Nissan Consumer Affairs to replace the tires . . . then I would take it to a national tire store (I took my to NTB) and have them do a laser alignment. I did mine, received the Nissan tire replacement notice, and was reimbursed for the alignment. They would have reimbursed for the tires, but I replaced them (wheels & tires) with 19" Volks, not OEM. Oh well, I tried to pull one over on 'em ;)

In either case, the real culprit is the factory alignment. It has excessive toe in!
