1990 Jimmy Won't Start

I took my '90 Jimmy (4.3 L, 4X4, TBI) into a fast lube shop and had the oil and filter replaced. Up to this point it has never failed to start (only 74,000 km). They went to start it and it wouldn't start. It turned over fine but there was no gas visible in the TBI. Adding gas manually into the TBI had no impact. Any suggestions as to what I should check?

I was thinking of disconnecting the rubber line just ahead of the fuel filter and cranking to see if fuel is coming from the fuel pump. Does the fuel pump relay ever fail?

Thanks,

Phil

Since my first post I have discovered the following:

1. I don't have fuel and I don't have spark (at the plug wires).
2. I disconnected the fuel line just ahead of the fuel filter and demonstrated that the fuel pump works fine.
3. While I was in the fuel line I installed a new fuel filter anyway.
4. I tested the coil (as per Haynes manual) and it is fine.
5. I tested voltage at connections to distributor from the coil (again as per Haynes manual) and it tested O.K.

Is there an over-all electronic control module and if so how do you test it?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Phil

Well I finally gave up and took it to the dealer. It was the ignition module in the distributor. All is now well.
