loud crackling in speakergenma 09-13-2004, 03:58 PM My right front speaker on my '91 Buick LeSabre has been cracking and snapping whenever the radio is on, reguardless of the volume I have the radio at. I've checked the fuses. What else could this be? conan7 09-13-2004, 08:27 PM Did you check if it was blown? I wouldn't think it was the actual radio reciever because all the speakers would have that crackle. genma 09-14-2004, 12:29 PM the fuse was not blown. it seems to come and go, too, like when I'm going over bumps. Dr. Pimento 09-14-2004, 04:51 PM Loose connection in the wiring, perhaps? genma 09-15-2004, 11:49 AM how would I know, and if it was, how would I fix it? Dr. Pimento 09-15-2004, 01:21 PM I personally have no idea - never worked with the audio in cars before. Having said that, I did have the same issue with my computer speakers - they would start "buzzing" the minute you turned them on, and you'd have to whack them a few times to shut them up. Turned out that was the wiring, so I thought it worthwhile to mention. genma 09-15-2004, 04:08 PM that sounds about the same. I will look into that! thanks! auto trainy 09-16-2004, 07:57 PM Try stopping at a sound system shop and ask the people that deal with it every day, maybey even stop at a couple of them, some are realy honest. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
