Can a 00' firebird v6 hae straight pipes?

Hey guys just wonderin' if i could purchase some straight pipes for my 2000 firebird 3800 3.8L V-6 engine?? Any suggestions??

Are you doing this to eliminate the cat? Where to where are you going to straight it?

Yeah, it can. But it won't sound very good. It is a good idea to keep the cat on gm V6 for ricey sound supression.

you can run it straight from the headers/manifolds back in single 3" pipe and over the axle to a muffler or not. I agree, cat probably not costing you much in power unless the car has a bunch of miles and needs replacing, and it'll sounds better with cat in place.

bmr sells a panhard bar that allows you to run true 3 inch duals now

if you look at the panhard bar on your car it is a straight piece that goes diagonal from one side to the other
your original 3inch pipe runs over it at one point

this new panhard bar has a flat spot in it where you can stuff 2 3inch pipes through it where the one 3inch pipe used to go

that was the one spot holding our cars back from being dual exhaust
