G35 = Skyline?¿?SSBigBlock 09-10-2004, 08:19 PM Ok, I went to the Nissan site for Japan. Trying to find info on the new Skyline(even though I can't read japanease). I saw pictures of the 05 Skyline and they look like the G35. I know Nissan and Infiniti are together and all, but is the G35 the Skyline for the states? I've think it is cause I know Nissan is gonna bring out the R35 Skyline over there. Can anyone help me conferm this for me. Thanks in advanced. VQuick 09-11-2004, 10:48 PM The G35s are as close as you can get to the current Skyline in the US. They are not identical. SSBigBlock 09-12-2004, 08:52 PM Well they look a lot alike. VQuick 09-13-2004, 05:28 PM The appearances are pretty similar, but the Skyline in Japan has a few different drivetrain choices and is rhd. alanek1 09-19-2004, 12:16 PM G35 is RWD too. Skyline coupe has 3.5 engine same like the G35 has but skyline sedan has more engine choices : 3.5 , 3.0 , 2.5. CaTasHtRoPhE 67 09-19-2004, 02:02 PM the look the same but the enine is a little diffrent Swonder67 09-22-2004, 12:29 PM the look the same but the enine is a little diffrent Are they still gonna use the RB26 motor in there? Or were they just switching to a turbo'd VQ35 engine? VQuick 09-22-2004, 02:49 PM Are they still gonna use the RB26 motor in there? Or were they just switching to a turbo'd VQ35 engine? The RB-series has been dead for over two years. There will be a VQ, possibly 3.2L, with electrically assisted turbos for Japan and possibly Europe. For the US, there might be a VK-series V8. CaTasHtRoPhE 67 09-24-2004, 12:34 AM wow europe and japan may get a turbo one all we get is a V8 wtf with that VQuick 09-24-2004, 03:24 PM wow europe and japan may get a turbo one all we get is a V8 wtf with that Brand image. Americans love V8s. ZeroGen 11-21-2004, 11:47 AM The Infiniti G35 is also known as the Nissan Skyline GT (V35). Read that again - RHD= Right Hand Drive G35cTurbo 05-10-2005, 11:41 PM electric turbos? WOW MPe488 08-06-2005, 05:44 PM whats so great about a Turbo V6, well.. I should rephrase that... I'm sure a well made turbo V6 could haul some ass, but couldn't you also t/c or s/c a V8? VQuick 08-08-2005, 08:06 PM Yes you could, but you'd also have worse weight distribution and fuel economy in the process. Don't forget that in Japan, there is a tax based on the number of cylinders and displacement of your engine. It's already going to go up a bit with the new GT-R, since it's VQ will be at least 3L. Why make it skyrocket with a V8? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
