89 tranny problem

i have had the 89 ford probe lx since I recieved my license. It was a reliable and fun car for about 2 years and then things started going wrong. My main problem is that I can't go past 35-40mph. I could go faster i guess but my rpms just keep getting higher so i dont want to blow my car up. I would just like to know if it is worth fixing or if the car is just junk which i hear a lot of. How much and what needs to be fixed?

i had that exact same problem and it was a bad slave cylinder. well the slave cylinder wasnt bad but you have to bleed it out. by doing that you get the air out. try that, otherwise your clutch is slipping.
