MagicRat 09-09-2004, 06:47 PM Okay, Shamu won't start. You missed something. If you had checked everything, you would have found the problem. So, what did you check? kenwood guy 09-09-2004, 08:31 PM yea I checked everything and the car is getting spark power but the distributor seems to be not doing its part jimmy[the]gent 09-09-2004, 09:45 PM if your getting spark the distributor is doing its job unless you only get spark straight from the coil have you looked at the cap is it cracked or loose? kenwood guy 09-09-2004, 09:48 PM my dad said there maybe carbon bulid up or could the distributor be bad it just went out like a light bulb psychorallyfreak 09-09-2004, 11:36 PM ok...WHERE are you getting spark? If you're getting spark at the spark plugs (check them all if you're doubting the distributor), then it's not the distributor. If it just went out "like a lightbulb" as you say... How did it go out? Did it stall? Did you go out one morning and it didn't start? Details, please... :) kenwood guy 09-10-2004, 12:16 AM I went home from school the car was fine when I wanted to take my mom to work it rolled but its not starting never stalled just wound not start uo Rufe 09-11-2004, 12:39 AM You need three things for the engine to run, air fuel spark (terminating at the sparkplugs!) One of these is missing. Please, some more info, what type of engine, what year is it. Also, re-check some of the basics, like fuses (esp. fuel pump), cutout switches, like in an auto trans, it will not start unless the lever is engaging the little switch in the park position. No moisture condensation in the distributor cap. kenwood guy 09-11-2004, 12:44 AM I think its the cap vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
