I have a 2000 Monte Carlo SS that is having problems starting. I'm a dumbass when it comes to cars. You said that you replaced the fuel pressure regulator sensor. Where exactly is that and how much did you pay for it?

The fuel pressure regulator is under the upper intake plenum just behind the throttle body on the top of the engine. they run about $40-$50

thanks, but is the regulator different than the sensor?

no, there is no sensor, the regulator is what adjusts fuel pressure via engine vacuum.

It was the pressure regulator that I had to replace on my Monte. Now it starts great. I just had the shop do it, under 100 bucks including parts and labor...
