92 S-10 oil pan replacementjoslinm 09-07-2004, 06:55 PM My 92 S-10 with the 6 cylinder has a really rusty and leaking oil pan. I tried to change it once a couple years ago and found that it wasn't going to happen without some major work. I've been patching and patching with JB weld and it has helped, but I think it's time to do it right now. Anyone done it. I assume you have to lift the engine quite a bit. Other threads say you don't have to pull the engine on a 2 wheel drive which is what I have. The truck has only 32K miles, but is rustyer than all get out. Help. busa_4 09-07-2004, 08:04 PM is there a subframe covering the oil pan? if there is, most likely you will have to lift the engine (not remove) to get enough clearance to get the oil pan out.
