Lambda Control #1 fault code???

Anybody have any idea what this is/means? That's the code I'm getting from my car. Fault code is 1222. In the manual I have this is Oxygen sensor control out of range, Oxygen sensor regulation. But in many other places I have read that this is Lambda Control #1. I just replaced the 02 sensor but that didn't fix the problem. So does anyone know what this is and how to fix it? Thanks for any help.

Oh yeah, I should probably mention that I am obtaining codes via flashing check engine light, not with a scan tool, not sure if that makes a difference.

Maybe the guy's in the 5 series can help out . .
